Why have I made this site?:
In the main this site is for me, but I hope will be very useful for other aspiring music producers.
The main point of this site is to capture everything I have learnt (and am learning) about the music production process. I want to do this in two ways. Firstly as a set of notes that summarises my thoughts on each stage of the production process capturing what I have learnt through courses and YT videos and practical experience. Secondly it is a repository for me to capture links to the best YT videos that are out there to illustrate the production steps.
With this in place people can go back to these resources each time they create a new track. As I refine my craft I will update my notes. Also, like many people, I spend a lot of time looking at YT instructional videos on music production. Though I am not producing necessarily every single day, I will often find the time to look at these videos. This site is a way for me to collect links to the best of those videos and embed them within my production workflow. This will allow me to revisit the video when I get to that stage of the workflow when my next track is up, and hence provide more purpose around the watching of these instructional videos in between track production.
I am hoping that the setting up and maintaining of this site will make me a more efficient music producer.
By posting all this in a public site it will hopefully be useful for other aspiring dance music producers and inspire me to keep the quality up as it is read by others.
I hope others find this useful.
Who am I?:
I got into music production about 2 years ago after DJing for a number of years. I have been totally hooked ever since. I have done a lot of courses and produced about 20 tracks from idea through to (self) master.
It is not my day job :).
What music do I produce (and hence this site is angled towards)?:
I produce what I would categorise as Melodic Techno, Deep House, House, Tech-House
